Our Toddler Program is a non-separation program for children ages 18 months - 3 years. A parent or caregiver attends class with the child. Here, parents are given the opportunity to meet other parents in a peaceful and supportive community, and children are given the opportunity for both individual play and the chance to explore relationships with other children in a safe and enriching environment. Children also may begin to develop trusting relationships with other adults, and parents are able to observe our parent education specialists interacting with children. Focus is on large motor, constructive, and creative artistic play - as well as helping children learn about interacting with peers and communicating their needs.

Our Preschool Program follows the model of a Primary Montessori classroom with children between the ages of 3 and 6. Here, parents are welcome to stay with their children everyday, and are required to work 2-4 times per month, assisting the teacher and helping with general clean-up. Further, we recognize that all children are comfortable with separation from caregivers at different times, hence a separation is never "forced" at OVCNS, but "gently supported". Children are given the opportunity to feel safe and learn to trust other adults in their own time. In the preschool, each child's individual level of achievement, ability, interest and need is respected, while exploration and growth are gently encouraged. Our teacher and director, Jennifer Wing, is an AMI (Association Montessori International) trained Montessori teacher and brings this wonderfully enriching curriculum and materials to our classroom.
